hey kids. i've moved.

been working with someone on a website, and while it's not finished, it's in a mildly functional stage. tumblr embeds nicely in it, so i'm blogging on tumblr now. sorry for the wiggliness.

anyhow, i'd be awfully pleased if you came and saw me over there every once in a while. follow the cupcake!!!

i'm not so good at this blogging thing.

similar to my problem with houseplants - this thing doesn't whine at me or eat my socks if i forget to feed it. i'll try to get better, but my posts are likely to remain spotty, with random bursts of hallo-how-are-you.

e.a.s.t. soon. i'm-a-gonna build me a little temporary studio with false walls inside bearded lady, so that should be interesting. i'll have all different sorts of goodies. among them, if the printmaking gods smile on me (instead of laughing and pointing fingers and throwing putrid eggs like they have been), i should have some nice new prints that don't look like absolute vomit.

the plate i printed on saturday looks like vomit.

i'm just a wee tad bitter.

oky doky, closing the show at rio rita tonight.

i never ended up with the spare time i wanted, so new pieces will have to have their coming out parties later this year (maybe e.a.s.t.? if i'm lucky). they bought dresses and everything, so they're totally pissed at me.

anyhow, come and hang out with me tonight at rio rita from 8 - 10 if ya like, and pick up your piece if you bought one.

or, doh.

a couple weeks ago this one came into my sphere of consciousness and diverted it all to hell.

8 months old, thirty pounds, total mutt. our vet said he wouldn't venture a guess as to what breeds are knocking around here. she is currently my distraction du jour, and her name is vesper.

we also had house guests.

point being: that project is still sitting unfinished and neglected.

i still have a job for a little while longer, so the art has taken a back seat to making a living and walking the young canine.

okay, and drinking cervezas with rad chicagoans last weekend. late.

i did not drink all of these myself.

i promise i will get it done before my closing party. it has some friends that will go up with it. they will make a brief appearance, and then come down.

they will officially be teases.

here are some more details on the closing party - september 26th, 8-10 pm. my friend ben webster is doing his kon karne & butcher bear monthly dj sesh that night from 10 - 2 (theme: california scheming), so come early for art, stay late for moooosic.

this was the beginning of kind of an owl tear for me...or people without non-people heads tear. anyway, i did it for the 5x7 show at arthouse, so it no longer belongs to me, but you can look at it here!

a hot cup of tea always helps when you get disappointing news in the post.

this came from a dream my boyfriend had. i think they're in love. it's definitely a tragic love story.

mr. awesome gave me a woodburner for christmas, along with some pretty little pieces of basswood that he planed. it's my new favorite toy.
